Kapiti Hot Yoga
We teach the 26+2 hot yoga sequence, commonly known as Bikram Yoga. The sequence is made up of 26 postures and 2 breathing exercises and is typrically practiced in a room heated to 40 degrees with 40% humidity.
But for now we are taking the 'hot' out of Kapiti Hot Yoga and simply focusing on the intelligent sequence of poses and breathing exercises. Together the 26+2 sequence is designed to bring back natural range of motion, improve your heart and lung capacity and help reduce stress by creating a sense of overall balance and wellbeing.
If you have been wanting to try hot yoga, but have been nervous about the heat, this is a great chance to see what it is all about. You will hear the instructional dialogue, experience the full sequence and become familiar with the poses. All our classes are live, which means a teacher is there to guide you in and out of poses safely. While there won't be a lot of external heat, you will be surprised by how much internal heat you generate, which will leave you feeling energised yet calm and relaxed.
Check out our Timetable for all our online classes during Level 3 and 4.
We look forward to meeting you online soon.

Is it ok to practice without the heat?Absolutely! While there won't be as much external heat, you will be suprised by how much internal heat you generate as the sequence itself is designed to warm you up from the inside out. The lack of external heat, also allows you to focus on other aspects of the practice, like engaging the right muscles, connecting with your breath, and listening even more carefully to the words, heightening your concentration and focus. Of course, if you do want to add a bit of heat, try adding an additional layer to what you are wearing, drink some warm water before class, and turn on your home heating systems. |
Suitable for all abilitiesAll of the poses in the sequence are beginner's poses with an emphasis on proper alignment and breath flow. Each pose is broken down into individual parts, giving students the opportunity to work with their own bodies at their own pace, building strength, flexibility, concentration and endurance. |
