Kapiti Hot Yoga
We teach the 26+2 hot yoga sequence, commonly known as Bikram Yoga. The sequence is made up of 26 postures and 2 breathing exercises and is practiced in a room heated to 40 degrees with 40% humidity. Our purpose-built room is heated using a combination of fan-forced air and infrared radiant heat to create the optimal heat and humidity conditions.
We are a small studio and proud to be the only studio on the Kapiti Coast to offer the 26+2 sequence. We are confident that this intelligent sequence of poses, combined with the heat and humidity, will help to bring back natural range of motion to your body as well as create a sense of overall balance and wellbeing.
We look forward to welcoming you soon.

Why the heat?We use a combination of fan-forced air and infrared radiant heat to keep the room at a consistent temperature. Infrared radiant heat is extremely healing and provides the same feeling of warmth as the sun does on your skin. Infrared radiant heat warms the objects in the room - in this case, the body - making it pliable and supple. When the body is warm, there is less chance of injury, as the body is relaxed facilitating safe and deep therapeutic movement.

Suitable for all abilitiesAll of the poses in the sequence are beginner's poses with an emphasis on proper alignment and breath flow. Each pose is broken down into individual parts, giving students the opportunity to work with their own bodies at their own pace, building strength, flexibility, concentration and endurance.

People who love the 26+2 yoga sequence
I tried Bikram yoga when I lived in Wellington and I instantly fell in love with the practice. I like repetition and knowing what is coming next. With Bikram you get that and you can feel when you are improving. I get a real sense of achievement knowing I went deeper into a pose or held a pose longer than the last class. Anjana is a wonderful teacher and I am so excited that Kapiti Hot Yoga is coming back!
